BRIJ Poetry and Art Contest
We are excited to announce our first Poetry and Art Competition!

We are looking for works of art and poetry that explore Muslim and Jewish experiences, identity, and community within the U.S.
All top submissions will be included in our upcoming summer publication. One art piece and one poem will win a $90 cash award.
For consideration, art and poetry must be submitted to [email protected] by midnight on May 10, 2020.
See guidelines below and feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Contest Guidelines
Please use the subject 'BRIJ Art Submission' and 'BRIJ Poetry Submission' as well as your school and year if applicable or your occupation. Poetry submissions should be submitted as word documents or PDF if layout and spacing are important aspects of the poem. Art submissions should be submitted as either PNG, JPEG or PDF, though other formats may be accepted if needed.
ART:
All kinds of art are welcome! We do ask, however, that you do not submit art with drawings of living creatures or human beings (though silhouettes are fine). This is out of consideration for differences of opinion among Muslim scholars.
POETRY:
Submit any kind of poetry in any language or length! Please include English translations for poetry written in other languages. We are looking for pieces that explore identity, community, and experiences within the United States.
We look forward to reviewing your work. Thank you!
